Finding The LG Pop GD510 Quite Handy

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Today it is difficult to figure out what mobile phone will work best for you without trying them all on for size. As a mobile phone product reviewer, I really do get the best of all possible worlds delivered to me. When I went looking for a mobile phone for my own personal use recently, I was torn between several models. I was very interested in a full sized, touch screen phone with all of the bells and whistles. No matter what manufacturer I tried out, I seemed to find something with each phone that just did not fit my needs or wants. Then I reviewed the LG Pop GD510 and I knew I had a winner.

If you are interested in finding a phone that is within the realm of a normal working persons budget, you are in for a treat. LG has long been known for providing top quality mobile phones for public consumption at a reasonable price with plenty of extras that you just do not expect for what you pay. This phone is in line with my expectations of LG which are very high.

The full touch screen is 3 inches in size. This is a nice sized screen for those of us who like to play games, send emails and visit all of our favourite social networking applications while we are on the go. So what did I like so much about the phone?

The LG GD510 includes a 3.0 mega pixel camera and with its expandable memory you can save all your music, movies and photos with ease.

The size. It is similar in size to all of the other phones of this magnitude of capability on the market today but somehow just feels better when you hold it in your hand. It is sleek and smooth yet I did not have to worry about dropping it like I have with most of the other phones like this that I have used and put to the test. It is incredibly comfortable to hold while using.

Believe it or not, the tree hugger in me was even satisfied by this phone. The LG Pop GD510 is actually an ecofriendly phone. It requires less energy than most mobile phones and is better for the environment. Who would have thought I could find a politically correct mobile?

You can buy a solar mobile battery charger for this phone. Go figure. The easy to use three way rotational touch screen makes all of your applications fun and easy to use and you will never kill your eyes, straining to see.

You also will not get what I like to refer to as mobile phone head from this model. You have seen people, walking along or on the subway, constantly turning their head and their hand, trying to get their mobile phone to respond to the change of display.

This phone is quick. It is easy. All of the internet browsing, texting and talk functions are perfect and seamless and run like lightning. The camera quality is superb and I have never seen a phone that is so easy to use with so many features. You can choose from your favourite options and programs and get all of your requirements met by this LG Pop GD510.

LG Cookie – A Sweet Name For A New Mobile phone

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Life is Good, and getting better. LG’s new entry into the touch screen mobile phone arena is making waves and causing people to rethink their buying options regarding this sizzling hot technology. What used to require a large cash outlay or the signing of a long-term contract agreement can now be had for around 49 pounds. The LG Cookie is the perfect answer to those who are budget-conscious but still want all the bells and whistles a mobile phone is now capable of delivering.

LG KP500 Cookie

The first thing you’ll notice about the LG KP500 (endearingly dubbed the ‘Cookie’) is that it’s small, slim and attractive. It looks good in your hand and fits easily into your pocket or purse. But that’s just the beginning. Its list of features and functions is long and impressive, especially for a mobile phone in its price range.

The second thing that’s immediately noticeable about this little phone is that it has no keypad. Everything is done interactively on the large 3-inch screen. It comes with a stylus but, unless you possess extra large hands, is touch responsive enough to work fine with the use of a finger.

The stylus does come into play, however, when using some of the functions such as hand writing recognition or drawing. It’s all good. This is a true multi-media device and offers a raft of applications to satisfy both the serious user and those who just want to play.

When you want to send a text using this phone you have three options. You can either employ the use of a display that looks like the standard telephone keypad found on most phones, write using the stylus and the Cookies hand writing recognition or choose a display that resembles a typewriter keyboard. To get to the keyboard (QWERTY) option, you simply rotate the phone ninety degrees and up pops a landscape view of a typical keyboard. It’s very cool.

Of course this phone incorporates a digital camera, with lots of adjustments for tweeking the parameters of your pictures. And there’s a great FM radio player that sounds very good through the earbuds that are part of the accessories package. All the stuff you’re used to finding on phones, like a calendar, clock, appointment book, etc., is also a mere touch away.

The Cookie sports two homepage screens, both of which you can easily customize. The default screen contains icons you can drag and drop to access the radio and music player, calendar and memos, picture files and clock(s). If you want to put some order to the placement of these icons, just give the phone a shake and they will automatically align on the screen. A quick swipe puts you onto the second homepage, which is the location for your speed-dial phone numbers. It will accept up to eight.

Finally, there’s the phone function. Of course, you want a mobile phone that can make phone calls, and this one performs this task as you would expect. The only difference is that, to make a call there are no buttons to press but, rather, a display appears that resembles a typical phone keypad, and you enter the numbers in there. All in all, the LG Cookie is a marvel of technology. It offers features found only on more expensive units, but at a fraction of the cost.

Are You Going To Like The Pink LG KS360

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Here in the UK you will have probably heard of this phone under the name LG InTouch as well as the LG KS360. It has quite a few other names as well, depending on the country it is in. It is more than likely, though, that what you are most concerned with is if the pink LG KS360 is a good quality, reliable phone.

It is necessary to point out, from the beginning, that if you are looking for a 3G network capable phone, this is not it. This phone operates on 2G networks, meaning the usage may be limited in certain areas. There are some mobile networks abroad that it may not be capable of working on.
However, if you want something snazzier than most phones on the market, you may like this one. It is a candy bar style phone that is quite colourful. They have definitely designed this one with younger mobile phone users in mind. You can pick from black and silver, black and red, white and pink or titanium and bright blue.

This phone also suffers from another common issue associated with most LG phones. There are many complaints from users about its propensity to randomly reboot for no apparent reason. If you are in the middle of doing something, this could be a decided drawback to these phones.

The battery life on these is also not as great as that of most other comparable phones. The Li-Ion batter is only 800 mAh. So, it provides only about 5 hours of talk time, much less if you have other applications running, too. If you really have your heart set on this phone, it is probably advisable to invest in a spare battery.

Unlike many other LG phones, this one does, however, support threaded text messaging. This makes it much easier to keep track of your current chats. Most people that text are already used to this, due to the way conversations are threaded by instant messaging clients. Phones that do not do this make it hard to keep track of a certain conversation.

It is definitely not a phone intended for the power user. It has only 15 megabytes of internal memory and can use a card of up to just 4 gigabytes. This limits your storage capabilities, as well as how many applications or games you can download.

This phone does have a touch screen, which may appeal to some customers. It should, however, also be noted that most users have said it only works for dialling phone numbers. The touch screen is not functional for other uses. To type emails, IMs or text messages, you have to use the slide-out qwerty keyboard. Which means it is similar to the LG Rumor and the LG Rumor II.

The pink LG KS360 is a functional phone, if you are just interested in mostly making phone calls or text messaging. It is not, however, a great choice if you want to run a number of different, essential applications. You will also find that it is limited in its capabilities to use the web and some other forms of media.
