Features On The Nokia N97 Mini

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

The Nokia N97 mini mobile phone is one of the fastest phones. The N97 is a mix between a smart phone and mobile phone which many have dubbed as an advanced device. This phone has a great touchpad as well as a keypad which works like a mini laptop. The touch screen will flip no matter which direction you use or are holding the phone.

The home screen on the phone has tons of information such as quick access buttons, date, email, analog clock, facebook status, music, calendar, photos, video shortcut, connection status, Ovi Maps and the Ovi Store. This is all clearly displayed in the 3.2 inch screen. You can easily see how many emails you have as well as a small preview of the first two emails in your list.

Nokia N97 Mini

The Ovi store works very much like iTunes and you can directly connect to this through the home screen. You can find any application that you can think of and then download it to your N97. The store will even track your purchases and recommend other applications based on your previous choices. You can also track your friends through facebook and see the current status of each friend. You can explore facebook as much as you want.

The camera inside the N97 mini is a five mega pixel camera that contains a Carl Zeiss lens. You can take great crisp photos and see all of their details on the screen. You can also download plenty of music from the Nokia store. There is also a built in radio for which all the song information is displayed.

While there are many functions to this mobile phone it is still a phone and an excellent one at that. All calls are very clear and you experience an immediate connection. The battery lasts for a long time with more than 6 hours of talking time. It will last at standby for over 300 hours.

The keyboard has been improved from previous models as it slides out and uses the standard cursor keys. The keys also are spaced a bit easier though it can still be a bit problematic if you are typing very fast. However this keypad is much better than the original N97. The operating system on the Nokia N97 Mini – Symbian 60 5th generation is the one weakness of the phone according to some, who rate other phone operating systems higher but all in all we think it does a good job of holding everything together.

You will not have any difficulties when it comes to connectivity as it uses quad band. This mobile phone will work pretty much anywhere around the world and it also comes complete with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HSDPA. The GPS works very well, you even get good connectivity when you are in weak signal areas, though one slight grumble is you can only use Nokia Maps.

The N97 Mini uses a micro USB port, you can expand the internal storage up to 8GB as there is an additional slot for a microSD card. Basically the mini is the N97 just smaller, quicker and a bit slicker.

How fast is the Apple iPhone 3Gs Meeeowwm!

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

The Apple iPhone 3Gs have a considerable amount of similarities to the original version. Before these phones hit shops there were many promises like faster processing speeds, more memory, longer battery life and many other additional features. In June 2009, the upgraded release was titled 3GS, the “S” referring to the speed of the device.

Apple iPhone 3G s 32Gb

However, customers are not only getting speed, but they are getting a wide variety of special features, such as a processor upgrade to a noticeable 600MHz, improved 3MP camera equipped with video recording and an improved memory of up to 32GB. This upgraded version has jumped from 2G, 3G to 3G Wizzz, which brings a whole new host of features to the iPhone game.

Apple has become perfectionists in miniature iPhone boxes, as there will be the usual standard accessories decorated in white, along with the mobile device. The box will contain the regular headphones packaged white Apple brand buds, to embrace its customers into the Apple brand loyalty. Critics argue that Apple could have offered better headphones to match the high end mobile device, as well as include some Bluetooth cans, similar to what Samsung does with some of their models.

But let’s face it what do they know? Personally I love the sound quality from my iPod headphones; I started life reviewing Apple products. For me Apple, whilst expensive are the ultimate brand they typify quality and reliability – speak to any Mac user they will tell you the same. And do you know what’s best of all? All of Apples, and I mean all successful products have been designed by an English man – the legend Jonathan Ive (Born in London England).

The Apple iPhone 3Gs looks very similar to the previous 3G version, as there is no bezel and no anti-slip coating. However, there is a new feature characterising the upgraded version, as the phone is built with a smear free screen. This screen will allow for easy cleaning and has grease prevention capabilities.

Additionally, the screen is a 3.5-inch HVGA widescreen model, equipped with a highly sensitive touch screen display. The screen will even respond to the static electricity conducted from your fingertips.

The screen is just pure class and makes images and video look crystal clear.

The iPhone 3G s also has some handy controls located at the bottom are two speakers and above the rocker volume controls is a switch for selecting the silent feature. The phones layout is neatly structured and its very user friendly.

The phone’s interface is intuitive and easy to use and the customisable home screen allows you to arrange icons and access your favourite apps with ease.

With the Apple iPhone 3Gs, you can browse the internet easily, record fantastic videos, and take beautiful and clean pictures, cut and paste anything, read push emails instantly, send and receive text and multi media messages, make calls single or conference work and play.

Of course I am not biased in any way shape of form, and my review, love of all Apple products in no way influences this review at all!

I wrote this review listening to the Killers on my iPod Nano – yes I have an Apple iPhone 32GB 3Gs but sometimes the iPod needs some me time too.
